Due to the latest COVID-19 restrictions and the great uncertainty about the coming months, we are sorry to announce that it will not be possible to hold our traditional Light up a Life ceremonies this year.

However, we would like to invite you to our Virtual Light up a Life ceremony at 4pm on Sunday 6th December 2020. The ceremony will contain many of the features of the live event - poems, readings and music - and we hope many of you will join us to remember your loved ones. Depending on social distancing guidelines in your area, you may wish to meet with friends or family members at home to 'attend' the ceremony, but where this isn't possible, you can go online knowing other like-minded people are with you in spirit, if not in person. You may also like to light a light with us during the ceremony.

How to make a Light up a Life dedication

If you would like to make Light up a Life dedication you can do so by completing this simple form. We will transfer your loved one's name and your dedication to a keepsake that will be displayed on our Light up a Life tree - the tree will be featured in our virtual ceremony.  We will also enter your dedication into our online book which will be available on this webpage in the coming weeks.

How to make a Light up a Life donation

We know many people choose to make a donation to Michael Sobell Hospice as part of Light up a Life. After an extremely challenging year, these donations are more valuable than ever. Simply add the name of your loved one on this form, complete your dedication, enter the amount you would like to donate and click 'submit'. You will then be asked to complete a few further details. If you would like to make a donation without making a dedication, you can do so here and simply write 'LUAL' in the 'reason for donation' box.

How to join the Virtual Light up a Life ceremony

A link to the ceremony will be available on this page and all our social media pages at 4pm on 6th December 2020. If you need any advice on how to access the page, please contact us in plenty of time. The ceremony will also be available to view for several weeks afterwards.

We very much hope you will join our 'new look' Light up a Life ceremony and if you have any specific questions please contact us.
