Schools fundraising

There are lot of ways your school or college can help support your local hospice to continue providing vital nursing care and support to local people facing life-limiting illnesses. Why not nominate your local Hospice as your Charity of the Year?

CHARITY OF THE YEAR

Whether you have worked with us previously or are new to us, we would be honoured to be your chosen Charity of the Year.

Our unique approach to fundraising in schools ensures that we work closely with you in developing a plan and calendar of fundraising and awareness events that suits you and is in line with your needs and requirements.

We believe that fundraising should be FUN but should have an element of learning so that together we can create a community of young adults who care for their local community and have a desire to help those less fortunate than them or those who are currently walking a difficult journey.

We have a range of existing campaigns and fundraising activities that you can choose from and will provide you with the resources you need to promote fundraising and participation.  We are also open to any ideas you may have and can support and guide you in developing resources and promotional materials.

We are also able to engage with your students by speaking at your assembly.  It is important that they know what they are fundraising for, some of the challenges in the community and how the Michael Sobell Hospice is addressing these challenges.

Whiteheath Junior School Endure July 2020 Challenge 2

Whiteheath Junior School

After the first nationwide lockdown, pupils took part in a school endurance event on hearing that Michael Sobell Hospice Charity's fundraising income had taken a hit due to the pandemic, and in turn, raised an incredible £1,000!

Pupils decided to help raise money with a special challenge event called 'Endure' which took place in the summer, with other pupils setting their own family challenges at home which included cycle rides, hikes and runs.

Thank you to all involved in such a fantastic achievement!

If your school would like to organise a fundraising event in aid of The Michael Sobell Hospice Charity, our fundraising team can help. Support can include; supplying visual props, posters & collecting tubs, speaking at assemblies, and providing publicity including social media support.

Please contact Linda Moore in the Fundraising team who will be happy to discuss any ideas you may have on 020 8106 9222 or email fundraising@michaelsobellhospice.co.uk.
