Our recycling activities are now well established and are helping to raise much-needed funds for Michael Sobell Hospice Charity. We urgently need all of your unwanted clothes, bras, shoes, handbags and textiles including bed-linen, curtains and towels, even if they are past their best. Books, DVDs, CDs, bric-a-brac, jewellery and selected items of furniture and sports equipment are also welcome.
Warehouse Collection Service
Donating couldn’t be easier. Our collections van is a common sight in the local community and our friendly team of drivers is ready, willing and able to come to your home, office or place of work and collect. All goods are taken to our Warehouse and sorted. Good quality items are sent to our shops for re-sale and the remainder are ethically recycled and turned into cash! We can collect items from your home office or workplace anywhere within a 15-mile radius of the hospice in Northwood.
We can take the following
- Nearly new clothing (including handbags, shoes, belts and bras)
- Books, DVDs and CDs
- Electrical items in good working order
- Ornaments, crockery and pictures
- Selected small items of furniture
- Toys, games and jigsaws (complete and in good condition)
- Sports equipment
To arrange a collection please fill in the form on this page or call 01895 825106 / 020 3826 2367 to arrange.
The warehouse team who are all volunteers will get in touch with you as soon a possible.
They work Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays
We also take metal items, clothes and other material for recycling.
No thank you
We DO NOT take: soiled, broken, cracked or chipped items, duvets, pillows, mattresses, carpets or similar items, video or audio tapes.
All proceeds help support the work of Michael Sobell Hospice in caring and supporting local families facing life-limiting illness.
Please be advised that, with immediate effect, that Michael Sobell Hospice Charity will not accept used copier or printer cartridges for recycling in the Fundraising building(Michael Sobell Centre).
A review of this activity has clearly identified that the amount of time & cost involved in administering the schemes far outweigh the very mediocre amount of income received. Whilst we realise that recycling helps us all to be environmentally friendly, the charity needs to concentrate its limited resources on much more productive methods of fundraising.
We will continue to accept mobile phones for recycling - this scheme requires very little administration, with any phones received being sent off the same day via FREEPOST.
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
The warehouse team who are run by volunteers will get in touch with you as soon a possible.
