The above information is collected when you:
- Sign up to our Newsletter,
- Make an online donation,
- Buy something from our online or retail shop, or

We may also receive your personal information when you donate to the The Michael Sobell Hospice Charity, through third party services such as Just Giving, Virgin Money Giving, BT My Donate, Much Loved or Love to Donate.
How we store personal information
Your personal data is stored on our secure database. Only authorised and fully trained staff and volunteers have access to the database in accordance with GDPR requirements. Procedures are in place (and continually reviewed) in order to ensure data is protected against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal data stored on our database.

We use this information to better understand your needs and provide you with a more personalised service.

Sharing your data
Where information is shared with a third party (for mailing of our newsletter, for example) it is prepared in a password protected format ensuring appropriate controls are in place. The third party must sign a confidentiality agreement to ensure the data is kept securely and only used for the purpose of the task in hand.
When a supporter makes a Gift Aid declaration to MSHC, the information is shared with HM Revenue & Customs in order to process the Gift Aid claim.
This information is retained for a period of 6 years as part of HMRC audit requirements.
Debit or Credit Card transactions are processed through our secure payment provider, Secure Trading Ltd. Credit card and bank detail information is not retained on our web servers or stored on our database.
