MICHAEL SOBELL HOSPICE CHARITY NEEDS YOUR EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
Michael Sobell Hospice Charity based at Mount Vernon Hospital, Northwood, is looking for someone to join the Board of Trustees with a view to taking over the role of Treasurer in due course. Ideally, this would suit a retired or semi-retired person with an accountancy qualification who has experience in business or running their own business.
The Treasurer will monitor the financial matters of the Charity and report to the Board of Trustees at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation, in line with good practice and in accordance with the governing document and legal requirements.
The Treasurer works in close co-operation with, and provides support and advice to, the Finance Team. They will also guide and advise the Board of Trustees in the approval of budgets, accounts and financial statements, within the relevant financial policy.
The overall role of the Treasurer is to maintain an overview of the Charity’s affairs, ensure financial stability and that proper financial records and procedures are maintained. All Trustees have the responsibility to ensure that the Charity complies with the governing document, charity and company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations.
The successful person would actively contribute as a member of the Board of Trustees who give firm strategic direction, setting overall policy and defining goals for the Charity.
