FINAL Masonic Cheque Presentation

The Hospice has recently been chosen to receive a grant of £15,000 from the Masonic Charitable Foundation via voting in the Masonic Charitable Foundation Community Awards scheme.  It was one of three charities shortlisted to receive an award in the Middlesex area category.

John Briggs from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Middlesex visited the Hospice to present a fantastic cheque of £15,000. John had a tour of the Hospice and was introduced to members of staff and the fundraising team. The masons have always been very generous to the Charity, and in the past has helped to fund a grant for a special MOTOmed, which helps patients strengthen their muscles. One of the Hospice patients could even walk his dog again after using it!

Contributions from Freemasons to Hospices have exceeded £12 million in England and Wales since 1984 and are continuing to increase at a rate of £600,000 a year.

Vanessa Howden-Smith, Community Development Fundraiser at MSH said: “We’re very grateful to the Freemasons for their generous grant and ongoing support. We also want to thank everyone who voted for us in the Masonic Charitable Awards, it will really make a big difference.”
