Who is it for?

This course is aimed at all who are new to syringe pumps. It is a mandatory course for nursing staff at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre (MVCC).

All staff using the McKinley T34 syringe pump must be competent and accountable in the use and operation of such devices.

A refresher/update course should be attended every two years.

Aim

The training gives practical knowledge of the operation and clinical application of syringe pumps. You will learn how to identify sites that can be used, how to set up the pump and care 0f the patient with a syringe pump in-situ.

Following the course delegates will need to be assessed for competency back in their own clinical work area.
