Who is it for?

Aimed at core multidisciplinary team members and practitioners in Cancer & Palliative Care working towards offering psychological support at Level 1 & 2.

This course is open to Band 5 and above.

Aim

To increase competence and confidence when dealing with psychological distress.

Content to include

Session 1: Recognising and assessing psychological distress, and refreshing and enhancing listening and key communication skills.

Session 2: Symptom recognition (anxiety, depression and other disorders), and assessing risk.

Sessions 3: Psychological interventions.

Session 4: Reflective practice
