Who is it for?

This one day study day is suitable for all staff who come into contact with people who have life-limiting illness and who may be at the end of life. It will primarily be of interest for Nurses (hospital based and community based), AHP's, Nursing and Residential care home staff, and other clinical staff groups who provide care for people in the last days of life.

Aim

To give an understanding of the principles underpinning advance care planning and supporting people with life-limiting illness.

Content

The day will cover topics such as:

  • Mental capacity
  • Advance Care Planning
  • Patient's experiences of loss
  • Spiritual care and spirituality
