Local man Leslie is still volunteering at 90!

Meet local man Leslie Pereyra from Ruislip, who recently celebrated his 90th birthday volunteering at the Michael Sobell Hospice Charity (MSHC) shop based on the High Street in Ruislip, where he works every week, saying it has given him a “new lease of life!” Leslie lost his wife to cancer in 2014 when she passed away at the Hospice. He was feeling very lonely and low following the loss. Singer songwriter Kate Nash donates £10,000 to beloved Hospice Charity

Summer Sizzler – Ladies in the Night Walk returns!

For the ninth year-running, Michael Sobell Hospice Charity’s (MSHC) biggest fundraiser of the year, Ladies in the Night Walk, is back with a summer carnival twist on Friday 15th June at 10pm. This year’s event will see a sizzling carnival celebration along with a brand new 10-mile route or the popular 5.5 mile walking challenge. Watford Carpenders Park Garden Centre come up smelling of roses!

Thumbs up to the team at Watford-based Carpenders Park Garden Centre who have kindly donated a clematis, a honeysuckle, bird feeders & 12 pairs of gardening gloves to Michael Sobell Hospice (MSH), in support of its volunteer gardeners, who help maintain the Hospice gardens all-year round. St Martin’s School, Northwood choose MSH as Charity of the Year!

Staff and pupils at St Martin’s School in Northwood have selected Michael Sobell Hospice (MSH) as their Charity of the Year for 2017/2018. Every year the prep school selects a charity to support throughout the school academic year to raise money and awareness. This year the Hospice which is based at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre has been chosen by the school. We need votes to receive a share of Freemasons’ £25k pot!

Northwood-based, Michael Sobell Hospice (MSH), is appealing to all its friends, supporters and service users to VOTE ONLINE to help receive a £25,000 Community Award from the Freemasons. As part of Freemasonry’s 300th anniversary celebrations, the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) is distributing three million pounds to 300 charities across the country, and MSH is one of those selected. Each of the nominated charities will receive a grant, but the public vote will determine how much they receive, ranging from £4,000 to £25,000.
