MSH reaps rewards of Black Horse Pub Fundraiser in memory of Carol Shipp

A whopping £7,600 was raised at a CannonBall Run-themed fundraising event in January, held at the Black Horse pub, Fulmer, in memory of Carol Shipp who passed away at Michael Sobell Hospice in December last year. The fun rally saw cars rev off from outside the pub to undertake a 70-mile round trip, ending up back to base for a spectacular auction and raffle with prizes including Arsenal FC match tickets, memorabilia signed by Sir Roger Moore, a suite at The Dorchester Hotel plus dinner and an overnight stay at The Crazy Bear! Rickmansworth Mum battling cancer teams up with daughter for MSH fundraiser

Mum of two Julia Bell from Rickmansworth, who was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in July 2016, is gearing her fundraising efforts over the next month towards helping to support her daughter (Ciara Bell) in hosting a Charity Race Car fundraiser in aid of Michael Sobell Hospice (MSH), which has helped Julia and her whole family come to terms with her diagnosis. “In 2016 I was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer and by September was in a wheelchair and sporting a rather attractive neck brace for fear of vertebrae damage and fractures to my femur,” explains Julia. “I couldn’t walk

Burst water pipe forces MSH Ruislip Charity shop to close for refurbishment

A burst water pipe in an upstairs flat above the Michael Sobell Hospice Charity (MSHC) shop on Ruislip High Street, has forced it to close until refurbishment work can be undertaken. It is likely the shop will be closed for several weeks before it can re-open. Ruislip Round Table Santa Sleigh raised £5k!

A big thumbs up to our friends and long term supporters at the Ruislip Round Table 124. who recently visited the Hospice to present a cheque for a wonderful £5,000! Hospice gets smart thanks to Haven Funeral Services

Local funeral company Haven Funeral Services of Northwood Hills has donated a brand new 49 inch Smart HD TV to Michael Sobell Hospice at Mount Vernon Hospital, Northwood. The TV is for the family room at the Hospice where patients and their families can spend precious time together, and family members can spend the night to be with their loved ones. Delighted Hospice Lottery Superdraw winner heading to the sunshine!

Wednesday 17 January 2018 was a very lucky day for Superdraw supporter Mrs D from Maidenhead, who was delighted when she received a phone call from the lottery office to say that she had won the top prize of £5,000 in The Hospice Lottery Christmas Superdraw. Our Summer and Winter Superdraws raise extra funds in addition to the weekly draw and this year they have raised just over £82,000. Ruislip lady Ruth Heron will be running 13.1 miles through the City of London on Sunday 25th March in the London Landmarks Half Marathon event in memory of her Dad Ernie who was cared for at Michael Sobell Hospice (MSH) in Northwood.
